COE Workflow

How a Curriculog proposal moves from faculty submission through UPC review to final catalog publication.

1

Submit a Curriculog Proposal

Faculty submits a Curriculog proposal for a new course, course change, program change, or other curricular action. See the Curriculog Forms and Process tab to find the right form.

2

Notify the UPC Chair & Department Administrator

At least two weeks before the next UPC meeting, notify the UPC Chair and Angelica Foley that the submission is ready for review. This gives time to catch missing components before the meeting — everything must be complete by meeting day. Check the USF Calendar & Deadlines tab for catalog cutoff dates.

3

Pre-Meeting Readiness Review

The UPC Chair and Angelica Foley review the Curriculog submission to confirm it is complete and ready for committee discussion.

4

UPC Meets with the Faculty Proposer at the UPC Meeting

The UPC meets with the faculty proposer, who explains the proposed change and the reasoning behind it.

5

Committee Review

UPC committee members review the submission using the official review guides below.

6

Review Outcome & Faculty Involvement

If reviewers have questions, the faculty proposer is required to attend the next meeting to respond or make revisions. If there are no questions, the proposer may still attend to observe. If a proposer is invited but does not attend, the item moves to the next meeting.

7

Committee Discussion & Vote

Once review is complete, the committee discusses the proposal and the UPC votes. Approved proposals move to the next level of review — the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies.

8

Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies

Associate Dean reviews the submission. S/he will contact faculty if there are any questions.

9

University-Level Review

The faculty proposer must attend the university-level meeting to answer questions. An invite will be sent via email.

10

Final Approval

Once approved at the university level, the proposal continues through the remaining process — no additional faculty meetings are required.

FLDOE Review for Teacher Education Programs

Note

College of Education Teacher Education program courses may require additional review by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE), which can extend the overall timeline.

11

Catalog Update

Once all parties have approved the proposal, the changes are published in the Undergraduate Catalog.
